Use Blueberry prices in a patient-directed search

Public cash-price estimates with explicit products, quantities, fees and freshness. Use plain HTTP, readable medication pages, or MCP if your agent supports it. No API key required. This does not imply endorsement or an integration with Muse, Grok, or any other platform.

A safe search-to-quote workflow

  1. Search by medication name or exact NDC. Confirm the full name, strength, form and package size with the patient. Fuzzy candidates are not interchangeable.
  2. Quote an explicit 11-digit or 5-4-2 NDC. For EA, provide quantity and patient/prescription-supplied dailyDose. For GM/ML, provide whole packages. Do not infer a dose or clinical substitution.
  3. Report both membership rates, separate membership acquisition costs, exclusions, and the response’s source refresh time and stale flag. Label stale or unknown-refresh estimates as last-known prices.
  4. Cite the returned medication page and give the patient a calculator verification link. The link preserves product and inputs but recalculates from the latest available catalog.
  5. If missing, do not invent a quote. Use the medication request link so the patient can review and submit the existing form themselves.

Bounds and errors

Search: 2–120 characters, 1–25 results. EA quantity: 1–10000; dailyDose: 0.001–1000; computed fee days at most 3650. Packages: integer 1–100. All JSON bodies at most 32 KB. Extra input fields are rejected. Wrong quantity mode returns 400; an unknown NDC returns 404, never a zero-price quote. Empty search returns 200 with no candidates. A batch with failures returns 200, complete: false, totals: null and a labeled successful-items subtotal.

Limits: 240 requests/minute per network peer and 1200/minute per running process, shared by API and MCP. Visitors behind a proxy may share a peer. Obey 429 and Retry-After. These are local abuse controls, not a guaranteed distributed quota. Send no patient names, contact details, prescription files or other personal information.

MCP connection

Endpoint: https://price.blueberrypharmacy.com/mcp. Official TypeScript SDK, stateless Streamable HTTP, JSON responses; no session ID or standalone GET/SSE stream. POST only. Supports protocol versions negotiated by the installed SDK, including 2025-11-25.

Configuration syntax varies by client; use its remote Streamable HTTP setup. Send Accept: application/json, text/event-stream and Content-Type: application/json. Initialize, send the initialized notification, list tools, then call a tool. Tools: search_medications, estimate_medication_price, estimate_medication_list. All are read-only and return the same data as the HTTP API in text and structured content. No prescription, ordering, admin, refresh or patient-submission tools.

Server-to-server clients normally omit Origin. Browser requests must come from approved price-checker origins; other browser integrations should call through their own backend. Unapproved origins and MCP Host headers are rejected. Do not circumvent this with arbitrary forwarded headers.

What to cite

“Blueberry estimated [exact medication and NDC] at [non-member amount] USD for [explicit quantity/package inputs], including [fees], excluding delivery and membership purchase. Member medication estimate: [amount]; membership separately costs $18/quarter or $60/year. Source feed retrieved [timestamp or unknown]; [fresh/stale]. Final price and eligibility require pharmacy confirmation.”
